Isle of Man Steam Packet Company

In 2008 The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company contacted AVO Systems to install brand new CCTV, PA and Audio/Visual Systems on board their then-new vessel HSC Manannan. The installation comprised of over 80 loudspeakers throughout the vessel, with 12 amplifiers to drive them. Also as part of the Audio/Visual System, 19 video monitors of varying sizes were supplied and installed to display announcements, passenger service information, as well as programme material from DVDs, and a fully-automated tracking satellite system that provides access to all FreeSat channels throughout the vessel’s crossings.

Since the original installation was completed in early 2009, AVO Systems have maintained and supported the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company’s requirements to ensure that the vessel remains in service and no down-time of the PA or Audio/Visual systems occurs. In early 2014 the system was given a complete and thorough service to ensure it’s long-term reliability; the system was stripped from the vessel and returned to AVO Systems’ workshops for servicing and testing, before being returned and refitted to Manannan and the system being tested thoroughly on-board in it’s entirety to the satisfaction of the Master of the vessel and Lloyd’s Register representatives.
